The standard we work to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We rebuilt the site in November 2026 and checked it against these guidelines as part of the rebuild.
What we have done
- Every page uses a clear heading structure and landmarks, with a "Skip to content" link at the top.
- The whole site works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline on links, buttons and form fields.
- Body text and form labels meet AA colour contrast. Headings use SEF teal at large sizes, where the large-text contrast ratio applies.
- Every form field has a visible label, required fields are marked, and form messages are announced to screen readers.
- Images carry text alternatives, including the full details on event posters.
- Pages reflow to a single column on small screens and when zoomed to 400%, without sideways scrolling.
- The site has no autoplaying media and respects your device's reduced motion setting.
- The page language is set to British English.
Known limitations
- Our PDF reports are designed for print and screen reading, and may not be fully accessible to screen readers. If you need a report in another format, email us and we will do our best to provide it in a format you can use.
- Event posters are images. Their details also appear as text on the Events page.
Tell us about a problem
